Artxandako Tuneletako Gau Krosa reunirá a 400 atletas el próximo 3 de octubre en una prueba deportiva nocturna de siete kilómetros por los túneles de Artxanda

Bizkaia, 29 de septiembre de 2026. Los túneles de Artxanda acogerán el próximo sábado 3 de octubre, a partir de las 20:30 horas, una singular prueba deportiva. Un total de 400 atletas tomarán la salida en la Artxandako Tuneletako Gau Krosa 2026, una carrera popular nocturna que permitirá recorrer en exclusiva los tres túneles, en un circuito cerrado de aproximadamente siete kilómetros.
La iniciativa está promovida por la Diputación Foral de Bizkaia, a través de la sociedad foral Interbiak, y cuenta con la colaboración de Kutxabank, patrocinadora de los premios para la categoría joven, y Eroski, que aportará las bolsas de avituallamiento para las personas participantes. La prueba incorpora además un marcado carácter solidario: la totalidad de los fondos recaudados a través de las inscripciones se destinará a Stop Accidentes y a la Asociación de Daño Cerebral Adquirido Bizkaia, dos entidades que trabajan en el apoyo y acompañamiento a víctimas de accidentes de tráfico y a sus familias, entre otros colectivos.
La prueba ofrecerá una experiencia deportiva inédita al abrir de forma excepcional al uso ciudadano una infraestructura estratégica en un momento clave de su transformación. Más allá del reto deportivo, la carrera permitirá conocer desde dentro el alcance de la rehabilitación integral que se está llevando a cabo en los túneles de Artxanda, convirtiendo durante una noche un espacio habitualmente reservado al tráfico en un escenario para el deporte, la participación y el disfrute colectivo.
La salida y la meta estarán ubicadas en el interior del túnel en Ugasko, frente a la plaza Pío XII, en sentido ascendente hacia Txorierri. Desde ese punto, las personas participantes recorrerán un circuito circular que atravesará los principales túneles y la zona de peaje del complejo viario: Ugasko-Txorierri, Txorierri-La Salve y La Salve-Ugasko, regresando posteriormente al punto de partida. Cada vuelta tendrá una longitud aproximada de 3,5 kilómetros, por lo que las corredoras y corredores completarán dos vueltas para alcanzar una distancia total de siete kilómetros.
La carrera comenzará una vez que los túneles hayan sido cerrados al tráfico y se hayan realizado todas las comprobaciones necesarias para garantizar las máximas condiciones de seguridad. El recorrido estará completamente delimitado, señalizado e iluminado y contará con personal de organización, control, asistencia sanitaria y seguridad distribuido a lo largo de todo el circuito.
Amplio dispositivo organizativo
La Artxandako Tuneletako Gau Krosa movilizará a 40 personas en las tareas de organización y contará con todos los servicios necesarios para garantizar el correcto desarrollo de la prueba: speaker, zona de avituallamiento, vestuarios y servicio de consigna.
La competición reconocerá a las tres primeras personas clasificadas en las categorías femenina y masculina, que recibirán su correspondiente trofeo, además de la txapela del primer puesto. Asimismo, se entregará una txapela y trofeo al Premio Joven, tanto en categoría femenina como masculina, para las personas menores de 18 años.
Como recuerdo de su participación, todas las personas que completen el recorrido recibirán una medalla conmemorativa. Además, se realizarán distintos sorteos de material, entre ellos calzado deportivo, mochilas, sudaderas, así como dos cestas con productos gourmet Seleqtia.
Los dorsales podrán recogerse con antelación en la sede de Interbiak, situada en la calle Islas Canarias, 19 (San Ignacio, Bilbao), en los siguientes horarios:
- Jueves 1 de octubre: de 08:30 a 17:30 horas.
- Viernes 2 de octubre: de 08:30 a 14:30 horas.
Además, en la zona de salida:
- Sábado 3 de octubre: entre las 18:30 y las 19:30 horas.
Junto al dorsal se entregará la camiseta oficial de la prueba.
Afecciones tráfico
La celebración de la carrera obligará al corte de los tres túneles a lo largo de la tarde del sábado. En este sentido, tal y como ha planificado Interbiak, se producirán los siguientes cortes totales de la infraestructura en ambas direcciones:
- Túnel Ugasko y Txorierri: 15.00 a 23.59 horas
- Túnel Ugasko-La Salve: 17.00 a 22.45 horas
- Túnel La Salve-Txorierri: 19.00 a 22.45 horas
Por su parte, se mantendrán abiertos los tránsitos en:
- BILBAO CENTRO (Alameda Rekalde – Puente La Salve) -- BEGOÑA (Avda Maurice Ravel)
- BEGOÑA (Avda Maurice Ravel) -- BILBAO CENTRO (Puente La Salve – Alameda Rekalde)
