El tramo Ugasko-Txorierri de los túneles de Artxanda se reabre mañana al tráfico tras seis meses de trabajos de rehabilitación integral de la infraestructura

La Diputación Foral de Bizkaia recupera así la plena operatividad de una conexión clave para los desplazamientos entre Bilbao y el aeropuerto y el Parque Tecnológico de Bizkaia
El túnel de Artxanda entre Ugasko y Txorierri reabrirá al tráfico mañana, martes 4 de agosto, una vez finalizadas las obras de rehabilitación y adecuación impulsadas por el departamento foral de Infraestructuras y Desarrollo Territorial, a través de Interbiak. Con esta reapertura, la Diputación Foral de Bizkaia recupera la plena operatividad de una conexión estratégica entre Bilbao y la comarca de Txorierri, utilizada diariamente por miles de vehículos y clave para los desplazamientos hacia el aeropuerto, el Parque Tecnológico de Bizkaia y el entorno metropolitano.
La decisión de cerrar completamente el túnel durante seis meses ha permitido ejecutar de forma simultánea numerosas actuaciones, optimizando los plazos y reduciendo significativamente la duración global de las afecciones a la ciudadanía y a la movilidad del territorio. Así, en este tiempo, los equipos técnicos han llevado a cabo una renovación integral de la infraestructura. Los trabajos han incluido el saneo, refuerzo e impermeabilización del revestimiento, la mejora de los sistemas de drenaje interno, la adecuación de las galerías de evacuación y la sustitución completa de instalaciones y equipamientos de seguridad, incorporando tecnologías adaptadas a los estándares europeos más avanzados, como LED de bajo consumo.
Entre las mejoras implantadas destacan la detección automática de incidentes, la instalación de detectores de gases y la incorporación de sistemas de gestión energética mediante placas solares. Además, la actuación ha incluido dos proyectos piloto de innovación: la creación de un modelo digital BIM as built de los túneles, que permitirá disponer de un registro digital completo de la infraestructura, y el desarrollo de un sistema de drenaje sostenible dirigido a minimizar el impacto de las aguas de escorrentía en los cauces fluviales del entorno.
La reapertura del tramo Ugasko-Txorierri supone un nuevo paso dentro del plan integral de modernización de los túneles de Artxanda, en servicio desde 2002 y utilizados por una media de 30.000 vehículos al día. Esta intervención da continuidad a las mejoras ya iniciadas por la Diputación en esta infraestructura con la adecuación del tramo Ugasko-La Salve, donde se eliminaron filtraciones, se renovó la iluminación con tecnología LED y se modernizaron los sistemas de seguridad.
La Diputación Foral de Bizkaia completará este proceso de mejora con la actuación prevista en el túnel La Salve-Txorierri, que se abordará el próximo otoño. De este modo, la institución foral culminará las obras de mejora y modernización de esta infraestructura de alta complejidad técnica y logística por su papel fundamental en la red viaria metropolitana.
