Via-T

ViaT is the name of the interoperable electronic toll system implemented on all Spanish toll motorways. This system allows you to pay for your journey without stopping, and also with a single transmitter (OBE) that allows you to drive on all motorways.

Operation

The electronic toll system on the motorways throughout Spain is very easy to use.

The images illustrate driving after the ViaT device has been placed in the correct area of your windscreen depending on the type of vehicle.

The vehicles approaches the electronic toll lane at a maximum speed of 40 km/h.

1. Passing through the electronic toll lane
The antenna and the transmitter exchange a signal and the system identifies the holder of the device installed in the car.

2. OBE transmitter reading
When the antenna has successfully read the ViaT device, it emits a single beep and the journey is automatically charged to the account or card linked to your ViaT.

3. Charge amount

The traffic light turns green and the barrier opens.

4. Green traffic light
A single beep confirms successful completion.

5. You can move on through
