Diputación licita las obras de reparación y modernización de los túneles de Artxanda

Los primeros trabajos comenzarán en junio y se ha ultimado un plan de actuación para acometer las obras por fases, túnel a túnel, y minimizar las afecciones a la movilidad de una infraestructura que cada día utilizan una media de 30.000 vehículos.
La Diputación Foral de Bizkaia ha anunciado hoy que los primeros trabajos para la reparación y modernización de los túneles de Artxanda comenzarán en torno al mes de junio. El diputado de Infraestructuras y Desarrollo Territorial, Imanol Pradales, ha explicado que este mismo martes salen a licitación los trabajos, con una inversión aproximada de 17,5 millones de euros (IVA incluido) y 19 meses de obras.
En servicio desde 2002, se trata de una infraestructura estratégica para la movilidad en el entorno de la capital que conecta Bilbao con el Txorierri, el aeropuerto y el parque tecnológico de Bizkaia.
Los tres túneles son utilizados por una media de 30.000 vehículos al día:
Túnel 1: La Salve-Txorierri (1.220 m) con una IMD de 15.709 vehículos/día.
Túnel 2: Ugasko- Txorierri (1.070 m) con una IMD de 5.926 vehículos/día.
Túnel 3: Ugasko- La Salve (590 m) con una IMD de 8.194 vehículos/día.
Tal y como ha detallado el diputado, se ha identificado la necesidad de realizar reparaciones y modernizar los túneles. "En los últimos años las auditorías y estudios nos han venido avisando de que la infraestructura comenzaba a mostrar algunas patologías por antigüedad y uso intensivo como pequeñas grietas, humedades y deterioros en el hormigón de revestimiento. Además, en estos 20 años la tecnología ha ido quedando obsoleta y también es necesario adaptarlos a las últimas normativas de seguridad", ha explicado.
Pradales ha destacado que se trata de una actuación de gran complejidad por el elevad número de desplazamientos que se producen a diario. "Hemos dedicado mucho tiempo a analizar cómo abordarla hasta contar con un plan de actuación que diera una respuesta equilibrada en coste y plazo a la necesidad de reparación, sin comprometer la seguridad de las personas usuarias y minimizando las afecciones".
La reparación se abordará de por fases y de manera consecutiva túnel a túnel. Las primeras actuaciones comenzarán en el túnel que une Ugasko y La Salve. Finalizada esta fase, se decidirá el momento más oportuno para iniciar las reparaciones en el túnel 2 en base al periodo más beneficioso para minimizar afecciones. El último túnel será el que une La Salve y Txorierri.
Este enfoque permite abordar primero las áreas más críticas y luego aplicar las lecciones aprendidas en las fases posteriores. Para minimizar las molestias a las personas usuarias, se cerrará completamente cada túnel durante un mes al comienzo de cada una de las fases de obras.
Las actividades restantes se realizarán de noche y durante los fines de semana para reducir al máximo las afectaciones y optimizar los costes y tiempos de la inversión.
